Dr. Travis Rollason
Education
Dr. Travis Rollason was born and raised in sunny San Diego, California. Travis earned his undergraduate degree in Biology at San Diego State University, graduating summa cum laude in 2012. While at SDSU, Dr. Rollason worked as a small animal veterinary assistant, and also participated in organized veterinary relief work for communities in Mexico. While there, he helped organize surgical procedures and provided medical supplies for animals in underserved areas. In 2017, Dr. Rollason achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian by completing his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of California, Davis.
Experience
After graduating from the University of California-Davis Veterinary School, Dr. Rollason worked in two small animal practices in Sacramento, California, for two years and in Champaign, Illinois, for one year. Dr. Rollason joined Best Friends Veterinary Hospital as an associate veterinarian in 2020. He chose to join our team because he felt the hospital's values aligned well with his.
Philosophy
Client relationships above all else. He considers pets as members of the family and believes that the human-animal bond is a very special component. He loves using modern medicine to improve the lives of both his clients and their furry friends.
Family
Outside the hospital, Dr. Rollason enjoys personal time with his family, friends, and two pugs named Huckleberry and Abraham. His hobbies include exploring new hiking trails as well as traveling internationally to experience different cultures and taste different cuisines.
Future Goals
His interests in the field of veterinary medicine include ophthalmology, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and preventative medicine. Dr. Rollason plans to pursue the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) certification to become a specialist in canine and feline medicine.
